Me and My Hip (part 3)

Ok tomorrow's the big day! My surgery is scheduled for 7 AM. Now of course Mother Nature has decided to mess with us and plans on dumping 4 - 8 inches of snow on us by the end of the day tomorrow. Hopefully that won't cause any trouble with the surgery, but who knows.

My friends keep asking me if I'm worried or nervous about the surgery, but to tell the truth, I'm not. I'm more anxious than anything else. I just want to get this part over and done with so I can move on with my life. I feel as though my life has been put on hold since my hip started bothering my back in November. It's a terrible feeling, not to be able to play with your child, or even walk through the grocery store without limping and taking forever!

So here's the plan:

Tonight - We're going to Springfield to spend the night at my SIL's house. It's a lot closer to the hospital and since we have to be there at 7 AM, it's easier than having to leave here at 5! We were going to go out to eat tonight, but that all depends on the weather! I'd rather order pizza and have everyone safe and sound at her house than try to navigate through lots of snow!

Tomorrow morning - 7AM check in at the hospital - surgery sometime after that - the surgery should take about an hour and a half. Then about 3 days in the hospital, full of "fun" physical therapy and morphine LOL!

Friday (hopefully) - come home and get settled in here. Rob is taking off all this week and at least all day Monday. He might take half days for most of next week, but it all depends on how I'm feeling and if I think I can handle taking care of K by myself. She's pretty good and can do most things by herself, but this might be a bit much for her.

That's it in a nutshell. I'll try to check in, either here or over on SCS, but I can't promise anything until I get home. I'm taking some stamping stuff with me, but I don't know how much time or energy I'll have to stamp.

If you want to send a card, my address in the the RAK group list or you can contact speale on SCS. She has it!

Hi --

God bless you as you prepare for surgery. It is a wonderful thing when you can move around comfortably. I had surgery on my left knee in Sept. and it was a wonderful thing when it healed. Now my right knee is not happy and I am seeing the doctor in a week.

Good luck, keep your eyes forward so that the work you do to heal after the surgery is just something you need to do to get where you want to go!
