Holy Snow Batman!

Ok Ok Ok I admit it, I jinxed it! I have been saying for the past 3 or 4 years that we haven't had snows like I remember as a kid. I know your perspective changes as you get older, and what seemed like a a lot back then really wasn't that much, but I'm basing my memories on pictures we have of my father shoveling snow in NJ in the early 80's. The snow was piled up over his head! We used to get a few inches at a time that wouldn't melt by the time the next snow would fall, creating HUGE mounds of snow for making snow forts and for wonderful sledding! We haven't had that kind of snow in YEARS. Until now LOL!

Monday night, central IL got about 15 inches of snow! Luckily we had already left for Springfield, so we didn't have to drive in the blizzard. We have a friend who plows our driveway when it snows, but this was too much for his plow, so he called a guy from the county and explained the situation (with my surgery and hip) and the guy from the county plowed our driveway! I was amazed! Anyway, here's a pic of our driveway after he plowed it and after Rob shoveled another 3 inches or so off!

Glad to see you're back at home! That photo is beautiful. It is funny how so many beautiful things can be sooooo dangerous to us as we get older. I pray that you are not in too much pain and on the road to a SPEEDY recovery. "A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones" - Proverbs 17:22.

Welcome to my new an improved blog. I hope you can find something useful, insightful, humorous or just plain silly here. Enjoy!
